Community Conversion Project

Conversion of a former residential dwelling and administration office into eight spacious apartments for a housing charity, offering independent living almshouses to local elderly residents. These tired listed buildings have been renovated to their former glory externally, whilst conserving some of the previous period finishes internally, to create a truly sympathetic end product set within the historic surrounding estate.

Items of work included:
  • Significant strip out works to the existing building
  • Demolitions and extensive structural adaptions
  • Complete substructure and superstructure for new rear extension
  • Overhaul of existing timber sash window installations, with some new windows
  • Internal secondary glazing installations to provide thermal improvements
  • Replacement rainwater goods and other refurbishments to the building exterior
  • Full external works package, including paving, resin pathways, access ramps, etc
  • Damp proofing and timber treatment works
  • Construction of new party walls between flats
  • New ceiling structures and upgrade works to the existing loft space
  • Complete fireproofing and sound proofing works
  • Full Mechanical and Electrical installations including adaptions to incoming services
  • New bathroom installations tailored for use by elderly residents
  • Carpentry and joinery package including kitchens, internal doors and mouldings
